Soft and cuddly teddy bears have been an essential toy in many children’s lives, and due to mass production this childhood icon has become easily replaceable. The generic bear is designed and made by Russ Toys; however, with the help of many volunteer knitters, each Forget Me Not Teddy Bear has been given a unique identity. Each year a new bear is chosen as the Forget Me Not Teddy Bear. Due to the diversity of volunteers, and reflecting the multiplicity of the society, each bear’s outfit is different and no bears are the same. These teddy bears are used as a fundraiser to support the Alzheimer Society Peel’s programs and services.
