The Alzheimer Society of Peel provides free educational meetings
on topics such as diagnosis, care, and research.
We offer an annual conference for caregivers, both family and professional, which focuses on caring for persons with Alzheimer Disease. Our Speakers Bureau provides knowledgeable volunteer and staff presenters for audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Our Resource Centers are available for those interested in further information. We have an excellent collection of books, publications, and videos in many languages available for borrowing or for
study at our offices.
We produce a quarterly newsletter for our members and for health care professionals in Peel.
Scholarships are provided annually to students attending community college programs in fields connected to Alzheimer Disease and related dementias.All education and outreach services are provided free of charge through both our Mississauga and Brampton offices.
Schools Program
Our Schools Program provides specially trained presenters who explain Alzheimer Disease to fourth and fifth-grade school students. This program has been well received in both public and separate schools.
