Alzheimer Society Peel’s 24th Annual General Meeting was held at the Mississauga Grand Banquet Hall and Convention Centre on June 17, 2008.
The Board of Directors would like to extend a special thank you to all those who attended.There were 2 new Board members appointed: John Paterson and Josephine Marks.Staff turnout was tremendous.23 staff pins were handed out to staff members who have dedicated 3 and 5 years of service.A special congratulations is extended to Karen Phair and Jodi Pereira for their 10 years of service.
Derek Stockley, Coordinator of Social Services Program, Sheridan College School of Community and Liberal Studies spoke of the wonderful partnership the college has with the Alzheimer Society Peel.Student bursaries will be awarded to the recipients at a special tea to be held in September, watch for the date.
Dr. Dianne Lezon-Giacomelli, Geriatric Psychiatrist and Alzheimer Society Peel Board Member gave an informative presentation on Alzheimer’s disease and the services the Society provides.
