Support Groups

 Early Onset Support Group

Alzheimer Society Peel is pleased to offer this program especially designed for individuals with early onset Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia, under the age of 65.  It provides a supportive, educational, therapeutic program for those with mild memory loss and an opportunity to meet others who are experiencing similar difficulties and exchange information and support in group discussions.

 *Participants (and their partners in care) will be interviewed prior to enrollment to determine suitability for the group and provide background information.

 We welcome enquires and referrals from local Community Services and Agencies.

 

"JUST FOR YOU" Early Support Group

A supportive, educational, therapeutic program for those individuals who have been informed and are aware of their diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease or related dementias.

The purpose of the group is to maintain support and health of the Alzheimer's individual by reducing physical and mental stress.

The groups provide experienced, empathetic facilitators; educational videos on topics relating to the disease, followed with a group discussion.

"JUST FOR YOU" EARLY SUPPORT GROUP also provides the newly diagnosed person with an opportunity to vent, share coping strategies with others who have also been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia.
