Volunteer Positions PDF Print E-mail

Friendly Visiting Program: A special volunteer opportunity providing friendship and companionship to a person living with Alzheimer's disease will at the same time providing respite time for the caregiver. Having a second language is an asset.

Day Program Volunteer: Share your time and talents with the clients in 1 of our 3 Day Programs. Volunteers assist the Day Program staff with the various activities happening within the Centre, such as arts and crafts, discussion groups, exercise groups, gardening and more. Having a second language is an asset.

Office Volunteer: Obtain and strengthen various skills including administrative, computer, communication and organizational. Spaces available for occasional reception duties in Brampton and administrative in Mississauga (Port Credit).

Special Event Volunteer: Be part of the action helping with both planning and implementing special events or helping out the day of the event. The Alzheimer Society Peel hosts 5 special events throughout the year.

Schools Program Volunteer: Help to promote information about Alzheimer's disease through interactive and educational presentations to fourth and fifth grade students in the Region of Peel. Having classroom experience is a definite asset!

Awareness Display Volunteer: Help spread the word! Awareness displays are a great way to raise awareness around Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Throughout the year the Alzheimer Society Peel attends various health fairs in the community. You can help to pass out information to the public at these events.

Family Support Group Co-Facilitator Volunteer: These special volunteers assist the counsellors with the Family Support Groups in Brampton and Mississauga (Port Credit).
