Mayor Hazel McCallion lends her support to people living with Alzheimer’s disease. Mayor Hazel McCallion becomes Honorary Chair of Alzheimer Society Peel Alzheimer Society Peel is proud to announce that Mayor Hazel McCallion of Mississauga has agreed to assume a leading role as Honorary Chairperson of the Society for the years 2008-2009 and 2009-2010.
In her first major role as Honorary Chairperson of Alzheimer Society Peel, Mayor McCallion will dropping by the 10th Anniversary of the Society’s Sam McCallion Day Centre on June 25, 2008. The Sam McCallion Day Centre, one of the Society’s three Day Centres located in Peel Region, is named in honor of Mayor McCallion’s late husband.
Mayor McCallion has also agreed to be honorary guest of the Society’s 3rd Annual Forget Me Not Gala, to be held at the Mississauga Convention Centre on Friday, November 7th 2008.
By lending her support to Alzheimer Society Peel’s efforts to raise funds for its many programs and services throughout the region, the Mayor will be assisting the Society in meeting the challenge of a growing demand for its programs and services resulting from an aging population and an increasing incidence of Alzheimer’s disease.
